A guide to shopping for kids clothing online

So, we’ve all been there, walking around a shopping centre with kids that just don’t want to be there, or even worse, with a toddler having one of ‘those’ tantrums.  There is nothing more frustrating!

This is why online shopping is fantastic.  You can shop from the comfort of your home, work, or just about anywhere that has internet access, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

But there are some things you need to consider to make sure it’s a pleasurable shopping experience.

Firstly, what are you looking for?  There is a multitude of online kids clothing stores which offer different brands, styles, price points and of course service.  This is where Google becomes your best friend.  Just Google what it is you are looking for.

At this stage you will be bombarded with pages of online kids clothing stores, so if you come across one that you like, make sure you bookmark it.  Most online kids clothing stores have a newsletter as well which is how they notify you of new arrivals and sales.  When choosing a shop to purchase kids clothing online you should be looking for the following things:

* Make sure there are terms and conditions, especially a returns policy

* Customer testimonials

* Contact details for the store, such as a name, email address and a phone number

* a website that is easy to navigate

* up front postage costs

* Payment options (PayPal, Credit Card, Direct Deposit)

So now that you are happy you have found the right online kids store for you, it’s time to start browsing.  If its kids clothing you are looking for but are not sure about the size or cut of the clothing you want to purchase, either call or email the store owner to ask questions.  If you are looking to purchase sale items, it is always better to double check if you are unsure as most stores do not offer refunds on sale items.

Right, so now you have all your items in your shopping cart and you are ready to checkout.  Is the shopping cart safe and secure?  On the payment screen you should see https:// not http:// and/or a locked padlock in the task bar.  Also some websites will state that they have an SSL certificate which ensures a secure transaction.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

I am contacted a few times a week asking for donations for auctions that people are holding to raise awareness and money for various causes.  The unfortunate thing is that i can’t support them all.

Like everyone, i have my chosen charities that i regularly support.  Not because i think they are any better than another charity, but because they hit a personal cord with me.

Some of you may have seen my facebook post back in September of last year, some of you may not have.  It was about my dad having lost his battle with bowel cancer.  He was just short of turning 64 years old, which in my eyes is far to young!  The problem with dad was that he was too busy enjoying life to follow up any health issues he had going on.  So by the time he was diagnosed with bowel cancer it had already spread.

From dads first diagnosis he lived for 9 months.  Don’t get me wrong, i am extremely grateful for the time we did have.  I got to tell dad how much i loved him, but it is never enough.  I miss him every day and i feel totally ripped off!

The point i am trying to make is that because i lost my dad to bowel cancer, i feel passionate about supporting Bowel Cancer Australia.  This month is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. They are not asking for donations (but don’t let that stop you), they just want everyone to talk about it.

Did you know 77 Australians a week die from Bowel Cancer?

But if detected early, bowel cancer is one of the most curable cancers.

So all i am asking you to do is spread the word about bowel cancer by talking to your friends and family.  If you would like any more information about symptoms, bowel cancer screening kits etc, visit Bowel Cancer Australia.

Early detection can save your life. Awareness is vital to your survival.
